Reviews Downloaded From Angie's List     If you want someone who is deeply invested in your dog's health, development, and well-being, then look no further.  Lori, the owner of Islander Home & Pet Care is the pet-sitter for your animal.  Before Lori, I'd taken my rescue dogs to a few places, and they were fine. But when we met Lori for our Meet and Greet, we all knew we need look no further.  Lori was, and continues to be a keeper.  Her intuitive understanding of dogs, and ability to communicate lovingly and effectively with them was observed first-hand as I watched her handle many situations with various dogs along our walking route, before she even started taking care of the fur- children.     Lori gives the dogs much more than their mid-day potty break when we just need a quick pop in visit.  In addition to taking Bentley to the community dog area, she protected him against  two potentially quite harmful situations.  Additionally,  she really tends to the individual needs of each dog, as they change, daily.     For instance, some days, Lori saw that Smudge could use a bit more time at the park to expel his excess pent up energy.  Some days, she'd generously let him stay overtime.  Other days, she noticed that Smudge was tired, and she would make sure that he got home, so as not to exhaust himself.  When we left town, Bentley and Smudge stayed at home, and Lori stayed overnights with them at our home to keep them comfortable.  They lived it up with all the cuddle time and direct attention to them.  She even took the time to send me pictures of them while I was out of town, which made me feel so much more secure than I ever thought I could feel.      Lori's passion is to work with animals, and it shows.  Her love and care for them is obvious to not only the owners, but moreover, the dogs!  Bentley formed a very tight bond with her, and is overjoyed when it is time for his daily trips to the dog area on the island (when I say overjoyed I mean, he would leave his food behind mid-bite to run to the door to greet her. Member Comments:      A person could not possibly provide enough praise for the professionalism and conscientiousness of Lori, the wonderful owner of Islander Home and Pet Care!  I had the pleasure of meeting Lori a year and a half ago, as I had heard that she manages the very best housekeeping service (and pet care) in all of Beaufort County.  All the accolades are true!  Lori goes beyond the call of duty, is meticulous, extremely well organized, proactive, very kind and personable...and doesn't just "do the job".  Lori puts thought into her work and will call you, if she has any suggestions about how to improve your home's comfort and safety.  Lori also calls you, immediately, when she sees anything amiss that could evolve into a problem for the homeowner.  As someone who is currently unable to spend the entire year at my SC home, I now have TOTAL Peace of Mind, and it is all due to Lori.  If you are fortunate enough to become Lori's client, you will be forever grateful :>)  Lori and her company, Islander Home and Pet Care, are the VERY BEST!
